The History Behind First United
First United Baptist Church began in the early 1970's by the merging of two congregations, Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Terrie Mahone, and the Pioneer Baptist church, which was under the leadership of Pastor Henry Goins. The two cogregations officially merged in the Spring of 1975.

As we entered the new Millennium January 2001, the Lord blessed us with a new Pastor, Rev. Lenzy E. Bell, who is a man of great spiritual knowledge and wisdom. Under Pastor Bell's leadership we have instituted a Youth Advisory Board, New Membership Discipleship Class, reactivated the Brotherhood Ministry and initiated a Youth Drill Team.
